Packaging

We are committed to minimising our impact on the environment by only using packaging made with natural, reusable or recyclable material.

We think deeply about every part of our production process; from raw materials to the packaging your purchase arrives in. We’re conscious that each stage of making something has a different impact on the environment, and, in many cases traditional packaging can outlive the item it was originally designed to protect. That’s why all of our packaging is made with natural, reusable or recyclable fabrics.

We are currently updating some of our packagin after an audit in 2023. This will include swapping our linen product bags for paper bags as well as changing any compostible mailers to recyclable mailers by September 2024.

Below are our current packaging solutions.

Product Bags

Our linen bags are made from factory 100% linen like our bedding and are necessary to ensure our linen arrives with you safely and in perfect condition. We’ve found our customers put IN BED bags to a variety of uses from sorting socks and underwear to organising different categories when packing.

However if you do not have any need for your linen bags and would like to return them for reuse by IN BED you are more than welcome to return them to us in store, either by post or in person, at:

Shipping Boxes & Mailers

The boxes we send our product out in are made from FSC certified cardboard and (once the shipping label is removed) is entirely recyclable. This includes any void fill or paper the product may be wrapped in. It also includes the kraft paper tape sealing the box.

For our mailers, currently we use a mix of FSC kraft paper mailers and compostable mailers from Heaps Good for smaller orders. We have in development branded mailers that are entirely FSC certified and recyclable. These should come into circulation in September/October 2024.

Product Tags

The swing tags used on our products are plastic free and completely recyclable once the barcode sticker has been removed. This includes the recyclable twine which secures the tag to your product. We are currently trying to source recyclable barcode sticker so our entire swing tag is able to be recycled. We do not use safety pins or similar to secure tags.

IN BED ribbon

In 2023 we transitioned all IN BED branded cotton ribbon (used to package & hold together our kitchen linens, heavy linen products & towels) to recycled cotton.
