1. A Wild Garden in Tasmania

Jardine Hansen has dedicated herself to a life of flowers. She makes her living as a floral stylist, working on installations and events between Sydney and her relatively new home in Tasmania. We spent some time with the warm-hearted Jardine, learning more about her life at home and getting a tour of the local flora.

2. A Farm to Table Garden in Daylesford

We visited the Daylesford Longhouse to shoot an IN BED campaign in 2019. The Longhouse is a stunning project between Architects Partners Hill, and homeowners Trace Streeter and Ronnen Goren. Along with the couple's home, the property in Central Victoria houses a small farm, cooking school, events venue and a verdant indoor garden - most of which is contained in a long and singular, 110 metre shed.

3. A Rooftop Oasis in Brisbane

La Scala is the private residence of architects Ingrid Richards & Adrian Spence. Perhaps the most referenced part of the build has come to be the home’s tiered rooftop courtyard filled with an array of desert plants.

4. A Garden of Dahlias in Valle De Bravo

Florist Gabriela Salazar runs her floral business, La Musas De Las Flores, from a home she rents in the Valle de Bravo, a mountain town on a lake, west of Mexico City. She is interested in how we connect emotionally with where we live and with our work, which is why she became a floral designer and educator, working with flowers for editorial, weddings and events and also teaching her craft. Of her garden, Gabriela says  “I grow mainly Dahlias. Dahlias are happy here and they can really have a very long season. The garden is less than 1 acre, it is a cut flower garden, so sometimes it's beautiful and blooming and some other times it is not.”

Chiswick’s garden in Sydney

5. Chiswick’s Bountiful Backyard

Chiswick is a Sydney institution. Well-loved for its extensive kitchen gardens, a meal eaten at Chiswick is always framed by greenery, the menu celebrating the seasons and the garden’s daily bounty. Midwinter, the rows display a wealth of root and cruciferous vegetables and herbs. We visited chef François Poulard to see how the garden grows and get the recipe for his delicious Wood-fired Rainbow Trout.
